Tree Fund - Restoring and Connecting Our Natural Environment
Each year, we allocate $50,000 through the Tree Fund to support native planting and riparian restoration projects that enhance ecological corridors, strengthen connections between natural habitats and support local biodiversity.
The fund is primarily aimed at landowners and community groups within the Kahurauponga Stream catchment, helping to improve the health and connectivity of the local environment. The fund prioritises locally appropriate native species and locally sourced plants, helping to support healthy ecosystems while also supporting local growers and businesses.
The Tree Fund is open for applications annually from 1 September to 13 November, with applicants advised of the outcome in December.
We work closely with Minimoor Nursery to help ensure planting is appropriate to each site, monitor planting success and provide ongoing care where needed.
